On October 17th, King Me plays on a tribute festival called
"Songs for the Silver Surfer". This to honour and remember our dear friend,
Telefunk's drummer/sampler Arnoudt Pieters.
Along with the show a
special CD, with exclusive tracks of the performing bands and other friends
was released, the benefits will go to Simone and the kids.
King Me provides a demo version of a track called "Wrong Wrong".

King Leo leaves the band after being Mr. Bass for 5 years.
His place is filled by Marc van Dijk.

King Me records Family Affair (a Mary J. Blige song) for the Gender Bender CD "More Than A Woman".
Sin Ropas' Danni Iosello was so kind to sing a few words with
Michael. The idea is that bands cover a song that originally was sung by a female artist. Michael is 'Madam in Command'
and asks bands he likes to join and record a song.
July - October 2003
King Me is working on new songs. King Me opens for
Herman Düne and
Sin Ropas.
Meanwhile the King Me homestudio
the "Jaap Boots Loods" was finished, it was opened this month with a
few friends playing their songs Mr. B. himself recorded a song in it this October. This song and other songs of
bands we like will ben on
a sampler
that will come out early next year.

On November 27, 2002 King Me recorded a session for VPRO's De Avonden.

Keep It Here
gets more
reviews, King Me plays shows with Telefunk and Coparck. King Me plays
as an "all star" band, including members of
Seesaw and
Venus Flytrap (thanks!). At the Telefunk show Dave (former member of the
Manuela’s and De Drie Negers) joins King Me on
stage.

Meanwhile, the compilation CD
"Eye Of The Beholder II" is released on
Tract Records. It contains an
acoustic version of "The Drive", recorded November 16th, 2000.

The last tracks of the CD are recorded and mixed.
Club Diana’s Marcel joins Michael in a duet called "We’ll Never Win" and does some backing vocals on a track called "Backdraft".
April/May 2002
Michael and Corno record six songs for what has the work title "Keep It Here". Recordings will
continue in July. Members of Seesaw, Zoppo and Mashed Potatoes join King Me in the studio.
Michael wrote a diary for
Muzzy
about the recording sessions.

Almost Summer gets it's first
Italian review.

Almost Summer is released in Italy on
Ee:lettro.
Michael decides to change plans and work as a project from now on.
Recordings will go on, but not as a "rock band" anymore. Corno Zwetsloot, Leo and
Michael record under the name "El Paso" a track called "Gravlaks" for
VPRO's
De Avonden (X-mas broadcast).
It is released as a
limited CD
(150 copies).

is released on B-Track and is distributed by Zomba Records.
King Me does two national radio sessions, one for Nachtbuzz and a 2 Meter Sessie.

Menno Wigman leaves King Me, Barbara Koedooder is the new drummer.
For Leidse Live King Me records a version of Almost Summer with a choir of twelve
older people (85+) who sing the chorus.

Under the name "King Me" a CD is pressed for private use only. It
contains 5 songs recorded lately added with some songs Michael Milo recorded with other
people since 1995. The idea is a private release
of 200 copies for friends and family only. By coincidence the CD manufacturor
has an offer that makes it cheaper to press 1000 copies than the original 200.
So some CDs are sent to magazines to get rid of the piles in the hall.

King Me.

King Me is the name for a project of some friends recording some songs. The original line-up
is: Michael Milo (vocal, guitar), Ariël de Graaf (violin, vocal), Janneke Milo (guitar, vocal), Marijke Kuiper (violin, vocal), Leo Meijer (bass), Krijn Tabbers
(cello). 3 songs are rehearsed in living rooms.
